I'm selling my collection. An Antique Belgian Mauser Model 1889 Rare Short Rifle made by "FN" the Fabrique Nationale Herstal National War Weapons Factory. Paul Mauser agreed to have the rifles produced in Belgium and sold the manufacturing license to the Belgian government. The government gave FN the license while retaining the rights to manufacture the model in state arsenals. The task of producing the contract was immense: buildings had to be erected, a workforce had to be hired and equipment had to be purchased. No expense was spared and only the most modern machinery was acquired. Factory construction was still ongoing when rifle production began, and the first rifles were completed on Dec. 31, 1891. The Model 1889 Mauser rifle effectively gave birth to the arms giant Fabrique Nationale. The FN produced 150,000 of the Model 1889 which served with success in many conflicts 1889 1960s. 22" shrouded (sleeved) floating barrel for accuracy with a very good bore with sharp rifling. The blue finish & the wood rate 85%. Chambered for the excellent 7.65 x 53 rimless Mauser. 5 round magasine. I haven't shot it. What don't read in the description may be seen on the pictures. It was well kept and preserved. The old cartridges showed on the pictures are not sor sale.
