I bought this gun new in the middle 90s when it first came out. In Southern Ohio at the time, we were not allowed to use straight walled cartridges, so we used dedicated slug guns. I have not used it for at least 5 years, since I usually take deer with my crossbow anymore. It's good for 145 yards with 2 3/4" Lightfield slugs, and that's about it, When this gun came out, Lightfields were knew too, and they didn't have 3" slugs availabvle around here. You might even get a bit more distance with the 3" slugs, but I never tried them. 145 yards is a long way here in the brush. I have killed a lot of deer with it, and it has some wear marks, but I'd say it's a 95% gun all day and has been taken care of
