Description: Watson Bros Double Rifle Safari 450/400 EXPRESS Double Trigger SN: 13567 Non-Ejector Splinter Forend PGC TIGHT LIKE NEW - LETTER attached to provide further color on the rifle's history -- name of owner has been withheld there's some solid information here and the rifle would include a 3 day SHOOTING INSPECTION for your convenience. Made: 1906 Originally: 25 pounds Made for: Mr. Sherrigor 450/400 3/4 Hammerless Double with a cross-eyed stock 3/4 inch case Standard Three Leaf Site Stock by: Ebenez Hands Engraved Watson Style 18 June 2003 Watson Brothers 39 Redcross Way London Bridge, London SE1 1HG UK Attn: Michael Louca Dear Michael: Following up on our conversation yesterday, I have obtained additional information on the Watson Brothers double rifle we discussed. The rifle bears serial number 13567. It is in caliber 450/400 3 1/4 inch Nitro Express. It has 26 inch extractor Krupp steel chopper lump barrels with a quarter rib with one standing and three folding leaf sights. It has bushed strikers, side clip action body and double triggers. The action body is covered with scroll engraving, and retains traces of its original case color. As I mentioned, it has been profaned with an incredibly ugly white line spacer ventilated recoil pad, but Champlin Arms is curing that problem for me with a proper leather covered pad. You can see the rifle on Champlin's (champlinarms). I enclose my check in the amount of $84.00, today's equivalent to 50 pounds sterling, to cover your cost in researching the history of this piece. As we discussed, I am interested in copies of any documents regarding this rifle, as well as obtaining two copies of the appropriate trade label for its date of manufacture. I very much appreciate your assistance in this matter. With best regards, I remain Yours very truly, Barrels stamped "GUSSTAHL KRUPP ESSEN" Wood looks refinished Blacking looks original as shown in photos Locks Up Like a New Gun This Rifle has seen many days in the field and shows wear on metal Pad is new
