“BABY LeMAT” Suicide Special Hideout Revolver
Here we present an antique Osgood Gun Works “Duplex” .22/.32 Caliber Rimfire Over/Under Spur Trigger Pocket Revolver, made circa the 1880s in Norwich, Connecticut. This scarce little revolver is quite the oddity produced in the mid-1880s with a pivoting firing pin optionally firing either the central single shot .32 caliber barrel or one of the eight .22 caliber chambers in the cylinder. This pistol is referenced in Section 8A-105 of “Flayderman’s Guide to Antique American Firearms” and is reminiscent of the infamous LeMat revolvers, but in a smaller and more modern package. The firing pins are hinged to allow barrel selection, and they utilize a top break action.
The overall condition is very good. Original nickel finish. The action fully functions (hammer and trigger), but the cylinder does not lock up properly. Good bore. Both grips are good, but are well used. “HANK HEANEL” is hand inscribed on the butt.
