Stevens  No. 43 Single Shot .22LR

Here we present an antique Stevens A&T  No. 43 Single Shot .22 Caliber Pistol, made circa 1910. This pistol was the second edition of one the company produced beginning in 1886. It features a single shot of .22 Rimfire LR, tip-up barrel, a built-in extractor, and single action. Pressing the button on the left side opens the action. This pistol was intended for a very small, very simple target or plinking gun in the early 20th Century. Its small size and simplicity also make it a great teaching tool for children.

The left side of the barrel is marked “J. STEVENS A. & T. CO./CHICOPEE FALLS, MASS. U.S.A.”.

The overall condition is excellent. The frame has about 98% original nickel finish. The barrel has bluing is in nice shape for its age, estimate at 90%+ . There is minor nickle flaking on bottom of grip, see picture. The markings are clear and legible. The grips are in excellent shape. The bore is clear and smooth. The action on this pistol is strong.
