Description:
1931 Colt Pre War Single Action Army chambered in 44–40 with a 7.5 inch barrel and factory blue/color cased finish. This is a very desirable ''FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER''. Per the included Colt archive letter it was shipped to Washington DC July 3, 1931. This is a very high condition all original survivor. The numbers match on the frame and grip frame. The last two digits are properly stamped on the back of the cylinder. The original bluing still retains a deep dark shine throughout in the color casing is brilliant. As seen in the photos there is only very light and superficial handling. Overall the finish rates 98% +. The cylinder face is very clean. All four clicks are crisp and lock up is tight. The bore is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. It is wearing a beautiful set of vintage ivory grips. They are not original to the gun but looking at the aging of them they've obviously been on it a long time.
