Description: 1940 Colt Single Action Army chambered in 38 special with a 5.5 inch barrel and factory blue flash color cased finish. These pre-war SAAs in 38 special are quite scarce. This is a high condition all original survivor. The numbers match on the frame and grip frame. The numbers on the back of the grips are scratched on the back but I am not sure if the numbers are factory. They fit perfectly. The last two numbers are properly stamped on the back of the cylinder. The bluing remains in very high condition. The color casings on the frame is still very strong. As seen in the photos there's only the slightest of superficial handling and overall the finish rates 98%. The cylinder face is completely clean. All four clicks are crisp and lock up is tight. The bore is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. The grips are exceptional with sharp checkers throughout.
