Description:
1905 Colt Bisley chambered in 44 Russian with a 7.5 inch barrel and blue/color cased finish. Bisley's in this caliber are extremely rare as there were only 90 manufactured. Per the included Colt Archive letter this one was shipped to New York, New York April 22, 1905. This is a collector grade gun. It is the finest early high polish single action that we've ever had in the shop. The original charcoal blue finish still retains all of its deep dark shine throughout. The color casing is very strong. The fire blue small parts are brilliant. As seen in the photos there are some rotation lines on the cylinder. There are also some marks on the face of the trigger. Outside of that it's hard to find anything else that detracts. Even the grip straps are exceptional with no real finish wear. Overall the finish rates 98%. The bore is bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. All four clicks or crisp and the lock up is tight. The factory grips are exceptional with sharp checkers throughout N0 fading. Upgrading this 118-year-old example will be nearly impossible.
