Description:
Serial #1L721, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a first-year-of-production, 1941-dated rifle, made to Mk. 1 specs. The metal retains 97-98% of the original blue, with some mild fading at the muzzle, as well as along the high edges and projections. The matching bolt has some further fading on the handle, with streaks of blue along the body. A later Mk. 2 rear sight is fitted, but matches the rest of the metal finish closely. The walnut buttstock, matching-numbered forend, and handguards are in fine shape with some minor handling marks and surface blemishes scattered about the reapplied military oil finish. All of the markings are still visible, although some are a bit faint. Import stamps are present on the exposed portions of the barrel. A single, matching-numbered magazine is also included. This is a rare, early Long Branch, and is in excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
