LONG BARREL w/ only 700 Manufactured CIVIL WAR ERA
Here we present an antique Allen & Wheelock Providence Police Percussion Revolver, made around the late 1850s to the early 1860s. The total production of this pistol was only about 700 pieces, making this a very rare and desirable pistol for your collection. This .36 caliber, 5 shot revolver was made for the Providence, Rhode Island Police Department just prior to the beginning of the American Civil War. None of these pistols bear any patent or maker’s markings, but they have been long recognized in the firearms collecting world as having been made by Allen & Wheelock.
This example is an even more scarce example of an already rare gun, with its longer 4-7/8 inch barrel.
The overall condition is good. Strong action. Bright, sharply rifled. Both grips are in good shape.
