Primary collect US military firearms & 1911’s Description: Winchester model 1886 in 38/56 caliber with a 22.5" octagon barrel. This Winchester is in good condition and functions properly. The 86 was cut down to its current length but is the original barrel. I would assume it was 24/26" or maybe even longer. Only a letter would tell the truth.  The bore is decent with remaining rifling and could be cleaned to a 6/7.
