This original Ruger Mark I from my research was manufactured in 1965 and is in very good condition for its age. It does show signs of normal use but again is in very good shape and would make an excellent addition to any firearms' collection. The original box and manual are a great addition to this classic beauty. With a little research I discovered that Bill Ruger acquired a pair of World War II Japanese Nambu pistols from a returning US Marine, which he successfully duplicated in his garage. Ruger's new product was simply christened the "Standard" model. Intended as a low-cost recreation and sporting product for outdoor, hunting and firearms enthusiasts. This highly sought after, collectable pistol is a variant of designer Bill Rugers' "Standard" model, extremely cheap and a blast to shoot, no pun intended.
