Colt 1911A1 military pistol inspected by John S. Begley in late 1945. Serial no. 2364460 shipped to Springfield Ordnance Depot on August 10, 1945. A day after we bombed Nagasaki,Japan. While Begley inspected from July-Sept 1945, these JSB guns rarely show up. And almost never in this condition. Some authorities claim less than 100 are known. I'm sure there are more, but they're pretty scarce. This pistol is a true 99% ORIGINAL finish gun. Barrel hood has just the slightest loss of blue. It is an "F" marked barrel which is correct for the time frame. Mint bore. A Colt-Risdon magazine is included. Perfect action. Grips are fine.
