James Purdey & Son - Lightweight SxS, 12ga. 27" Barrels Choked IC / ½"
Made at the height of manufacturing in 1929, Sir Joseph Wentworth’s Fluid Pressed Steel, gold inlay “1” , 2 ½ chamber, automatic safety, magnificent delicate English rose and scroll to the highest order, straight grip stock , drop points, checkered butt, the wood is sharp, clear ,and crisp! With a very nicely figured piece of Turkish Walnut, splinter forend, double trigger, automatic ejector, the gun is tight! Virtually no use on this gun! Has all the barrel blue, wood finish, and case color. Shows no sign of any real use , perfect screws, vacant gold oval. Purdey confirms the gun was built as a lightweight gun in 1929 in the exact configuration that it is today! Slight bend for right handed shooter! Just a magnificent between he war gun! That’s cased with all of it’s accessories. Perfect barrels and virtually perfect everything else!
