1924 Colt M1911 Transitional chambered in 45 ACP with a 5 inch barrel and factory original brushed blue finish. These were the only military 1911s manufactured between 1919 and 1937. There were exactly 10,000 made for this military contract. Although they feature the new 1911A1 features including a shortened trigger, scalloped trigger well, widened sights, an arched main spring housing, and elongated grip safety they are still considered 1911s for the 1924 transitional year. This is a high condition all original survivor. It has the proper HP interlaced barrel that is K stamped. The finish is an excellent condition with the majority of the finish only showing light and scattered handling. The groip straps show the most wear on the pistol. Overall the finish rates 95%. The bore has strong lands and grooves. It is mostly dull with some scattered frost. The bore rates a 7 out of 10. The slide to frame fit is tight. The chamber area is very clean. The grips remain in very good condition with some minor checker flattening in a few areas. This is a very nice 100 year old military pistol.
