Description:
This is a beautifully engraved Schrade Bear Paw Lockback knife measuring 5" overall with a 5 5/8" stainless steel clip point blade. The bolsters and liners have a nice brass patina and have been engraved by Robert C. Kain showing flowing scroll on a stippled background, the hinge pins on the front bolsters are bright floral blossoms. Mr. Kain’s intertwined "R" and cane symbol is stamped on the spine of the spring along with 1997 date. The blade remains bright and unsharpened and scales are lovely pakka wood each fastened by a single aluminum and two brass pins. It comes in a Schrade marked leather belt sheath and the original cardboard box. Robert Kain was a subcontractor engraver for Colt, Marlin and Harrington & Richardson and along with his knives are highly sought-after, Mr. Kain passed away at the age of 80 in 2008.
