Description:
For sale is a custom build mauser sporting/big game takedown rifle chamberd in .35 Whelen. It was built on an Interarms Mark X action and features double square bridge with tradiditonal claw mount scope, model 70 style bolt shroud/safety, double set triggers, oberndorf style floorplate release, low profile butterknife bolt handle, fully adjustable NEGC rear sight, barrel band swivel mount 1" all steel weaver 4x scope. The rifle was build by Brian Dudley of Rochester, NY (BMD Gunstocks) and engraved by Geoffroy Gournet with tasteful running vine accents and bridge/sight matting. The takedown mecahnism is one of Brians own design and uses a locking plunger in the forend tip to secure the barrel/forend assembly. This is done using a shop made wrench. The rifle is included in a deluxe Negrini takedown style locking case. The stock length of pull is 14.5" over the silvers pad and 13-5/8" to the wood. It is long and has plenty of room for adjustment if you desire a shorter LOP. The stock is made from attractive English walnut that is oil finished. The forend tip is ebony. hand cut checkering. Case color hardened accents on small parts. Rust blued barrel and action. The claw mount scope rings are sight through style so that the iron sights can be used with the scope on or off. The magazine is factory size, so this results in a reduced 4+1 rd. capacity due to the size of the .35 whelen cartridge. The rifle weighs 10 lbs. with the scope on it.
