Description:
For your consideration, this 1879 Reichsrevolver is a wonderful piece of history in multiple ways: The gun itself hails from the time of German unification, intended to replace the percussion-fired pistols used by the previously independent states. It was shortly replaced in turn by the 1883 model, but some few still saw use until the end of World War 2-- Which is where this piece picks up some more of its personal history. Included with the purchase of this gun is a copy of the form filled out by an American soldier who captured this revolver and brought it back home with them after the war. Of course, this gun is one of the many line items listed on the form. Overall, this firearm is in good/fair condition: The finish is worn off the barrel, and while the rest of the pistol still bears most of its original finish, there are some scratches in multiple places around the frame. The wood grips are not cracked, and the lanyard ring is still attached. Overall, considering the gun is at least 141 years old, it is in excellent shape for its age. 10.6x25mm
