Boxlocks - Built between the wars (1928) this little 28g. has many hard-to-find features as well as wonderful wood and engraving. The game scene engraving, the high grade wood, and the long length of pull make this petite flower a rare find. Wilkes was a highly respected London gun maker.
It is said in the UK that of all the double guns built there before WWII that 90% were 12g. guns. The next most common gauge among the remaining 10% were 20g. guns, the next were 16g. guns , and the next .410 doubles. Interesting that 28g. were the smallest and rarest gauge of guns built in the UK during this period.
