Payment Types Accepted: Money order, checks, Venmo Description: This is a very neat gold rush and civil war era, used 1848 Colt First Model Dragoon with an original holster. It is 44 cal. with 7-1/2" barrel. All numbers matching. The cylinder serial number matches but is barely visible through the metal pitting. The gun is martially marked US on the frame. The cylinder is 6 shot. The mechanics are good with hammer staying at cock and halfcock. The original wooden grips have the owners civil war German silver corps badges inlaid. The star is from the 12th-20th corps which saw action in Gettysburg, Antietam, Lookout Mountain and more. The acorn silver badge is the 14th corps which saw action in Chickamauga, Stones River, Missionary Ridge and more. The original holster has leather flap removed long ago for easy access to the gun. It has a likeness of the owners log cabin complete with chimney carved into the side. The original barrel plug is still present. I have owned many Colts over the years and this is one of my favorites. Payment by money order or good check preferred.
