This is a very handsome rifle, built in 1944, and is in virtually unissued condition. The metal retains 98-99% of the original blue finish, with only some very minor silvering at the muzzle, as well as along some of the high edges and projections, and some silvering on the bearing surfaces of the matching bolt. There is a small and unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel, and all of the original markings are crisp and clear. The walnut forend, handguards, and buttstock have only a few minor handling marks in the original oil finish, with crisp "C (Broad Arrow)" and Long Branch inspection stamps. The rifle comes with a correct "22" marked loading tray/magazine housing, as well as a sheet metal front sight cover. These are extremely well-made and accurate rifles, and this one is in excellent, little-used condition. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
