U.S. Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle, manufactured by the Springfield Armory. This rifle is from a private collection. This rifle was manufactured in the last quarter of 1889 as indicated by the serial number and the cartouche on the left wrist. The bluing is 90% with the butt plate showing the majority of the bluing loss. The breech has great case hardend coloration. Please see the included photos for all the proof marks as well as the condition. This rifle shows very well and is a great example of this iconic rifle.
