Description:
The Model of 1917 is essentially an Americanized version of the British Enfield. As the Americans were already producing them in a .303 British, the decision was made to switch to .30-06. This allowed the Americans to arm for WW1 much more quickly than if they re-tooled the factories for the American 1903. This one features a very nice walnut stock with a Remington action and a Winchester barrel. The serial number dates the rifle to 1918 and the barrel dates to 1919. .30-06 Springfield
