Description:
Serial #C330851, .38 Special, 6 1 / 2 inch barrel with a bright, excellent bore. This is the Smith & Wesson 38 Military & Police Revolver featuring a square butt and ramp front sight manufactured between 1952 and 1955 after which the upper side plate screw was deleted. The metal surfaces retain about 95-97% original blue with light handling marks, light silvering at the muzzle, a very mild turn ring, scattered light freckling, and the ejector rod is flaking to a gray-brown patina. The service trigger and hammer retain bold case-hardened colors. The diamond checkered walnut Magna grips are numbered to the gun and feature silver S&W medallions rate about excellent with a tiny chip in the bottom of the left stock and a small bruise along the outer edge of the right one. Timing and lock-up are very good and the action appears to function well mechanically. The original gold cardboard box end labeled to the pistol is included and remains in very good condition with light edge wear and scuffs. A very nice early 1950's M&P revolver. FFL or C&R
