Description:
EARLY, ANTIQUE 1892 .44-40 SADDLE RING CARBINE, #24XXX, MADE 1894. Very difficult to find Pre-1899 antique carbine especially in .44-40 caliber. This one also has a fairly bright excellent bore that if not perfect is close! Barrel and magazine are an aged gray/brown. Barrel has the carbine ladder sight with slide intact (probably a replacement) and exc. barrel markings. The receiver is similarly aged to mostly brown with good blue on the loading gate, on the bolt and in the most protected areas of the receiver. Fine walnut butt stock and forend with some better than standard figure in the stock. Tight action with solid safety half-cock. Exc. screw heads with one receiver screw on the left side replaced. Really hard to find.
