Added to our lever action collection today is this Turnbull Model 1886 Deluxe Takedown chambered in .475 Turnbull, one example of our take on John Moses Browning’s original Winchester Model 1886 design. The big-bore rifle features a 22″ full octagon barrel and full-length magazine, takedown frame, rubber recoil pad and 1X wood with deluxe pistol grip.
As with all Turnbull models, this Model 1886 sports period-correct finishes including: color case hardened receiver, lever, hammer and forend cap; rust blued barrel and magazine; charcoal blued small parts; hand-rubbed wood finish in classic Winchester red.
This gorgeous rifle comes back to us unfired. The original owner ordered this custom rifle in 2010, but hasn’t had the opportunity to shoot it since then. Excellent condition, small spot of safe rash near checkering on rear RS of forend.
