Description:
The item for sale is a Colt Root Model 1855 revolver in 28 caliber. This is an early 2nd model manufactured in 1856, the second year of production. The overall condition is excellent with beautiful factory blue remaining on the metal as shown in the photos. The grips are burl walnut with virtually all of the Colt high gloss finish remaining. Mechanically the revolver is excellent and functions as Colt intended. This is a revolver that clearly has seen very little use in 165 years. Barrel address markings are clear as is the Cabin and Indian Scene on the cylinder. A Colt revolver worthy of the finest collections.
