SN: 93145. Made at Nagoya Arsenal in 1944 with a 25.9-inch barrel that is chambered for the 7.7x58mm rifle cartridge. This Nagoya Arsenal 29th Series ""Last Ditch"" Type 99 short rifle has a bright bore with strong rifling. The overall condition is excellent with original finish on the metal parts & the wood is in great shape with none of the the dings & dents that one would normally expect to see on a military service rifle that has been through a world war. It is equipped with a non-adjustable aperture rear peep sight & wood buttplate. The bolt handle is simplified & the safety is not knurled, but the chrysanthemum on this rifle is intact. Comes with an unmarked dust cover & an unsharpened straight quillon Type 30 school training bayonet, a bamboo scabbard & leather frog. Consignment
