SAVAGE MODEL 720 shotguns are some of the scarcest U.S. military issued shotguns of WW2. They were used for Aerial Gunnery training. This SAVAGE Model 720 shotgun is in far better overall condition than the vast majority Aerial Trainers with very good metal and wood finishes, showing only light wear. There is a common crack repair on the right side of the fore-end. It has numerous P Proof marks on the receiver and barrel as well as Ordnance Department Flaming Bombs and U.S. marked on the receiver. The barrel also has four asterisks **** denoting a Cylinder Bore. The U.S. Government needed these shotguns faster than SAVAGE could produce them, so some of these guns were obtained by the U.S. Government through civilian sources. I believe this to be one of them, having a POLY CHOKE CO. adjustable choke and a Pachmayr WHITE LINE recoil pad. These two items are sometimes seen in tandem on SAVAGE 720 training shotguns. It will make a great addition to any Military Shotgun collection.
This Shotgun is from my personal collection and is being sold as-is. Returns will not be accepted.
