This beautiful T/C Contender features a blued steel frame with Cougar engraving on both sides, thumb rest checkered pistol grip with T/C cap and matching smooth forearm. The Super 14 barrel has the original sights removed and is fitted with an EBCO rail scope mount. This work as well as a lightened trigger, was preformed by E. Arthur Brown Company for the original owner. The bore is excellent, sharp and shiny. This pistol was purchased, scope mounted & trigger work done, then zeroed-in at the range, followed by test firing hand-loads a few times. It was never taken to field and it shows. This piece is truly in beautiful condition.
On this Contender model, the hammer has a square push-through safety. When pushed on the right side of the hammer, a safety pin protrudes at the upper face of the hammer which would prevent the hammer from striking the firing pins. To take the safety off, simply push the square button on the left side of the hammer which will retract the pin and allow the hammer to strike both firing pins. The safety can be seen in the pictures as can both firing pins.
