Belgian Made Tip-Up Single Shot Pistol
Here we present an antique Engraved Liege Proofed Single Shot Tip-Up Pistol in .38 Rimfire, made circa the 1860s-80s in Liege, Belgium. It was built for target and recreation, or possibly for self-defense. The barrel tips up and activates the ejector and very much reminds me of one of the Stevens Tip-Ups.
The overall condition is very good. Excellent action. The bore is in good shape for its age with deep rifling. Sharply engraved. The grips have a slight wiggle, but remain in good shape with light handling wear.
