Description:
Nice rifle that mechanically sound and ready for a full up restoration if you are so inclined or you can shoot it quite well as is.

It has a 28” barrel that is marked 40-3 ¼ on the bottom of the barrel, in front of the forearm wood. This would mean it was a 40-90 Sharps straight or even the 40-90 Ballard possibly, and not very many were made in this caliber. Before the rifle came to me, someone had relined it to 40-70 Sharps straight with the standard 1:16 twist.

The butt plate is a Remington, but it came from a different rifle. The front sight is nice Baldwin sight with a spirit level. Triggers work perfectly.

I have had this rifle for several years and was planning to restore it as a long-range target rifle with a new barrel, in 40-90, but never got around to it. I’m retired now and am realizing its time for me to let someone else carry the torch forward with this rifle. I have too many on going projects.

Let me know if you have any questions. Shipping will be via Fedex .  VISA/MC accepted with the 3% convenience fee. No Postal money orders.

Strength and Honor!
