Description:
Very uncommon centerfire Jacob Rupertus from Philadelphia swivel breech rifle. Cosmetics are very nice for a 150 year old rifle. Still retains quite a bit of bluing, the bore is very nice with minor pitting, the wood and butt plate are original, there is a chip on both sides of the tang, but there are not cracks or repairs on the forend or stock. The rifle appears all original, the action does not work, the trigger does not drop the hammer, I'm not sure if there is a broken spring inside, so this is how the rifle will come.
I do not know the caliber, I can't see any indication on the barrel or under the forend, it's certainly not a 12 gauge, looks smaller than a 45-70, the barrel is 26.25" long. All numbers are matching in the rifle that I can see.
