This is a very nice example of an original Colt 1911 rig from 1918 that was issued to the U.S. Army. Fantastic profile view with very little wear, but notable thinning of the front strap. Original Colt barrel with intertwined 'HP' marking and a minty bore, though this barrel is an earlier example than this serial number should have. Excellent wood grips with strong checkering. Two-tone mag with lanyard ring. The listing includes a Colt archive letter that states this pistol was shipped to the Ordnance Supply Depot in Washington, DC on December 18, 1918. Also included is an original holster that is also from 1918, along with a lanyard, belt and mag pouch. The belt and pouch are also 1918 dated.
