SN: 337598. Made in September 1941 at Springfield Armory with a 24-inch barrel chambered for the .30-06 rifle cartridge. Although this rifle's receiver was produced during the Second World War, it is paired with a March 1950 Springfield Armory replacement barrel that just so happens to have a bright bore with strong rifling (TE: 2 & ME: 0). It is equipped with the T105E1 rear sight assembly, a poppet valve gas cylinder lock screw, a Springfield Armory trigger group, a Springfield Armory radius cut operating rod & a narrow front sight base gas cylinder. The Hackberry buttstock is new production, so it is free of dents, dings & scratches, but it is not a color match for the USGI front & rear handguards. The metallic parts have been finished with a dull USGI parkerizing that ranges from light gray green on the receiver to a significantly darker shade on the operating rod & clip latch.
