****SOLD**** For consideration is a Kimber CDP 1911 pistol in .45 ACP caliber. The Colt M1911 (also known as 1911, Colt 1911 or Colt Government in the case of Colt-produced models) is a single-action, recoil-operated, semi-automatic pistol chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. The pistol's formal U.S. military designation as of 1940 was Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911 for the original model adopted in March 1911, and Automatic Pistol, Caliber .45, M1911A1 for the improved M1911A1 model which entered service in 1926. The designation changed to Pistol, Caliber .45, Automatic, M1911A1 in the Vietnam War era. The iconic 1911 was designed by John Browning and has been used by many law enforcement and military organizations around the world. The .45 ACP cartridge is a powerful and formidable round that has incredible "stopping power". This particular Kimber has some nice touches usually found on custom guns.....things like magwell, skeletonzed trigger, ambi safety, beavertail grip safety and skeletonized hammer. The pistol has been shot and carried some but it's very clean. There are slight handling marks but nothing serious. Grip panels are nicely checkered and they are free of cracks or chips. The barrel has a good bore with strong rifling. The tritium in the night sights is dead. This fine Kimber would make a great concealed carry gun where allowed by state and local laws. Box, papers and one Wilson Combat magazine come with the gun.
