Presented for consideration is a Seecamp .32 ACP pistol. L. W. Seecamp Co. was an American manufacturer of pocket pistols located in Milford, Connecticut from 1981 to 2014. In 2014, Whalley Precision purchased the company and took over production of the pistols from their facility in Southwick, Massachusetts. L. W. Seecamp Co. was started as a pistol smithing company in 1973 by Ludwig (Louis) Wilhelm Seecamp who trained as a gunsmith in pre-World War II Germany. Seecamp immigrated to the US in 1959 and was a gun designer for shotgun maker O.F. Mossberg. He also specialized in double-action conversions for the 1911 Colt .45. In 1978, Seecamp specialized in the miniaturization of pistols. The Seecamp patented spring system is currently used in almost every locked breech miniaturized semi-auto pistol. In 1981 Seecamp started firearms manufacturing, beginning with the LWS-25. The elder Seecamp died in 1989. His son, Larry, kept the company going, before selling the company in 2014 due to failing health. This particular pistol was made in Milford, CT before the sale of the company. The box is from a different pistol because it says New Haven, CT and the serial number has been blacked out with a marker. LW Seecamp pistols are of extremely high quality and precision made. This specimen is in very good condition with everything tight and working as it should. The barrel has a good bore with strong rifling and the grip panels are in very good condition. This fine Seecamp would be an excellent candidate for a pocket pistol or a strong addition to a collection.
