Description:
Serial #95808, .22 Short, 6 inch barrel with a very fine, slightly rough bore with good rifling. This is the second issue, Diamond No. 43 tip-up pistol manufactured by J. Stevens A. & T. Co. from 1896-1916. This excellent example features a nickel plated frame and adjustable rear sporting sight. The barrel retains about 95-98% of the original blue finish with slight loss around the muzzle and very light use marks along the barrel. The nickel plating on the frame is likewise excellent with the only loss along the grip straps and the balance remaining very bright. The walnut grips are numbered to the gun and ?rate excellent. The lock up is tight with only very slight vertical movement and the hammer holds at half and full cock with a crisp trigger pull. An excellent example of a classic early target pistol not often found in such high condition. FFL or C&R
