Description: Boxlocks - I do not know a lot about John Fry but that he was a gunmaker in the town of Derby in England. He was a direct descendent of William Fry, a gunmaker in Derby established in 1847. If you put a scope cross hair on a map of England, you would center it about right on the town of Derby. Derby is the original home of Rolls Royce. Condition: The barrels are long 30" Damascus with a nice pattern and clean inside and out. The gun is slightly off face, we would recommend a tightening soon. We can recommend where to have this done. The wood is quite beautiful and in very good condition. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 4374 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection. |
