Description:
Winchester started of with the model 54 that soon developed into the model 70 we have today. This rifle was manufactured in 1926 with serial number 7076. The metal is good with normal wear from use and age. There is one rough spot just past the forearms on the left side of barrel. There is no rust or pitting. Bottom metal has a patina color, no bluing left. Bore is strong with well defined lands and grooves. Not shot much just carried. The wood is also good with no cracks or chips. Checkering is smooth to the touch but still easily seen. The rear bridge has not been drilled and taped. It is covered with an original Lyman open peep. Very nice example of a model 54 with a 4 digit serial number. Shipping is $75.00 to lower 48.
