Description: Serial #262636, .30-40 Krag, 30" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has a single area of dark freckling within the grooves about 10" back from the muzzle. This rifle retains 97-98% of the original blue, with some mild silvering at the muzzle, as well as along some of the exposed edges. The bolt retains most of the original armory bright finish, with just a few specks of brown freckling on the handle. A commensurate amount of the bright nitre blue remains on the extractor. A 2nd Type Model 1902 rear sight with flip-up eyepiece is installed. The walnut stock and handguard are in generally excellent condition with few handling marks in the original oil finish, and crisp "JSA / 1900" cartouche on the left side. This is an extremely nice Model 1898 Krag, and rates fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
