This is a Marlin Model 1895 SS in .45-70 Gov't in microgroove, JM Marked barrel. Barrel is 21.5".
The SS designation means pistol grip and hammer/bolt safety. Walnut stocks are in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or gouges. Stock also has original Marlin buttpad. Stock also has original bullseye insert. We do see some light impressions on the right side pistol grip area, most likely from the gun rack - please see photograph.
Bluing appears to be in excellent (95%) condition. This rifle retains its original front sight hood and hammer spur. This rifle will also come with a Weaver-style scope base, Weaver rings, and CHC 4X scope.
