Description:
ORIGINAL ANTIQUE:  COLONIAL/AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR PERIOD AMERICAN POWDER HORN ca.1750-1770: In overall good + untouched condition and a classic mid-18th Century Colonial American form with a wooden base-plug and a chip-carved/turned and collared pouring-spout. Natuaul colored cow-horn surfaces with traces of colonial blue milk paint on the base-plug. Of medium-size with a carved neck pouring-spout-collar and its original carved, convex, reddish-brown-colored, hardwood (walnut?) base-plug. Original square-shank-tacks and complete with its rust iron eye screw for a suspension cord. In overall untouched condition with a few minor moth chews and wear. Minor scuffs, abrasions and smooth. Below the collar is a blue milk paint painted band about 1 1/2 inches wide. Overall length, approx. 15” including the original stopper and eye screw.
