Offered for sale is a nice prewar Colt New Service. Chambered in 45 Long Colt with the 7.5 inch barrel. This example is in better than average condtion for a New Service of this age. These big guns were a tool and most show signs of carry and hard use. The Serial number dates to before WW1. Minty bore. Original Colt blue finish rates about 90% with wear on the straps and the barrel. This example is what most collectors refer to as a Lunch box gun. Colt Archives has no record of the assembly or shipment of this gun. This adds up to the fact it has no assemblers stamps and lacks the Verified Proof mark. This would make an excellent shooter grade gun.
