Description:
For your consideration, a Springfield Armory M1A chambered in 7.62x51mm. This piece is a very early production rifle made in Devine, TX and utilizing nearly exclusively USGI components. The USGI stock has had its selector cutout filled and has had several bearing surfaces bedded. The trigger housing, hammer, safety, gas cylinder, gas cyl. lock, and gas cyl. locking screw are all Springfield. The bolt is a Winchester and the op rod is by Saco-Lowell. Additionally, the barrel, op rod spring guide, and rear sight assembly with hooded aperture, and front sight are all marked National Match components. Stock markings consist of a (P) proof on the underside of the wrist, a DOD acceptance cartouche at left, and the serial number is stamped in the barrel channel. 7.62x51mm
