Description:
Bolt action Model 1898 Rifle with 30 inch round barrel chambered in 30-40 Krag caliber that has a bore could use a good cleaning but overall has strong rifling. 1902 rear sight. Walnut stocks with a trapdoor buttplate. Type 5 hand guard. Front band has a bayonet lug. Left side of the walnut stock has "JSA-1899" cartouche. Wood is generally good overall. Some handling mars and dings but sound and solid. About 50% blue turning a plum color. Not a bad old military rifle. 188k serial range made in 1899.
