Manufactured during the US Civil war and many purchased by US Gov't and martially marked. Post war the large bore 1858 Starr revolvers found their way west and were used extensively with many being photographed with early western inhabitants. Condition, Good with a mottled dove grey mixed with patina finish. The one piece walnut grips have been period modified with course checkering. The action operates properly in its double action and the bore is strong with some oxidation in the grooves. The grips remain full sized with their period checkering.
