It is believed it was a Number 1 Smith & Wesson like this used to Kill Jeb Stuart at Yellow Tavern in Va, during the U.S. Civil war. Condition Very fine with well over 80% blue finish on barrel with crisp barrel legends. Cylinder has over 75% thinning blue with legible patent markings. Brass frame retains over 90% silver with edge wear Grips have some bruises and 2 small chips from period use. Action operates properly and bore is very good.
