FINE CIVIL WAR COOPER FIREARMS CO. FRANKFORD-PHILADELPHIA DOUBLE ACTION PERCUSSION POCKET REVOLVER CIRCA 1863-4. One of the first successful double action American revolvers. Six-shot with 5” octagon .31 cal. barrel address stamped “COOPER FIREARMS MFG. CO. FRANKFORD, PHILA, PA.” with patent dates last of which is September 1863. Fine to excellent with all matching serial numbers in the 4xxx range. 60-70% blue mixed with lovely even patina overall. Excellent screws with original finish. Perfect tight working order and excellent bore and chambers. Walnut grips with the original finish. Superior example and a scarce Civil War era revolver seldom seen in this nice condition.
