Description:
Rare offering. Nitro Special, Model 4 Trap Gun. Barrels marked: Lefever Arms Co. Ithaca NY. According to Walter Snyder (Double Gun Journal, Spring 2013) only 247 were completed. Except as noted, the gun appears to be all original. The recoil pad is a replacement; a Jostam Hy-gun pad was installed to replace the original that was crushed from its many years in a gun cabinet. The buttstock has not been cut. The right barrel may have been opened to its current 25 points of constriction? Some case color remains on the frame. The barrels and bore are very good, as is the wood and checkering. The rib is not dented and ivory beads are mid-rib and front. The barrels "ring". The trigger is single, non-selective. Extractors. The lever is to the right of center.
